Melty Blood
A 2D fighting game based on Tsukihime. Originally a collaboration between Type-Moon and French-Bread (known as Watanabe Seisakujo before 2003), the game was originally released at the 2002 Winter Comiket (C63) as a doujin fighter. An expansion patch called Re-ACT was released two years later in May 2004, and a patch called Final Tuned was later released for free in July 2005.
Melty Blood became a popular fighting game, and tournaments were held in various places in Japan. On March 2005, an arcade version of the game titled Melty Blood Act Cadenza was released by Ecole Software, the arcade game was later ported to PlayStation 2 in August of 2006. An update of Act Cadenza, entitled Act Cadenza Ver.B, was released in the arcades in December 2006 and later ported to the PC in July 2007. The latest installment, Melty Blood Actress Again, was released by Ecole in September 2008 in Japan. Melty Blood has also been adapted into a manga series and is currently serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's Comp Ace.
Story
The story of Melty Blood takes places sometime after Tsukihime, and is centered on Tohno Shiki and Sion Eltnam Atlasia, a girl from the Atlas branch of the Mages' Association. The two goes from place to place in search for The Night of Walachia, a Dead Apostle in the form of a phenomenon called Tatari that is causing various strange phenomenon in the city.

Melty Blood Re-ACTReleased: May 30th, 2004 Melty Blood's expansion, sold for 1,500 yen. Came with new stories, two new characters (Len and Satsuki Yumizuka), new move sets, and more polished in general. A patch (2.51) called Final Tuned was released for free in July 2005. |

Melty Blood Act CadenzaReleased: Arcade - March 29th, 2005; PS2 - August 10th, 2006 An arcade port of Melty Blood Re-ACT by Sega-Sammy. Came with with a more polished system, new scenarios and new characters (Kouma, Aozaki Aoko and NecoArc). A PS2 version was later released, and was later ported back to the arcade as Act Cadenza ver.B. |
